| About Art, Fons Heijnsbroek
says:
Art is like jumping The created
Art object is in fact the jump. It's not only the witness of the jump,
or the tale about the jump. From where or whereto we have jumped. No, the
artwork is and remains the jump. How does an artist fix the direction of
the jump? he wonders. As an artist we also are human. It's not necessary
that we oblige ourselves that each try should be a jump into the unknown,
is it? Well, in truth, yes we are. But luckily, there is something that
is reassuring: once you have jumped, you always fall somewhere. Either
there where you jumped, or where you are (now). The first is deception,
because we wanted it so much. The second is astounding. It seems one never
leaves oneself.
Critics:
The artworks of Fons Heijnsbroek,
gouaches on paper, irradiate a very direct simplicity, a tought transformed
into intuition. In spite of, or thanks to its limited character on a white
and virgin surface, the artist creates a space, creates images ad spaces
with colour and light, by which the attentive spectator can live some kind
of three dimensional experience. These compositions of form and colour
do not refer to any object, rather to some slight nostalgy of the painter,
a human space but trespassing the limits, searching for future unknown
realities.
The abstract art is for him
not only the painting, but most of all the wish of something that is sensed
and communicated through the paintings.
The whish to make visible
the invisible. |
