The "Casa de Cultura" (House of Culture) of Benijófar receives the photographic exhibition of the journalist Donna Clovis.
Last Friday 7th october, took place the inauguration of the photographic exhibition "out of the Abbyss" and "White Girl, Brown skin", of the Cuban journalist Donna Clivis, in the exhibition room of the House of Culture of Benijofar.
This is a graphic show, where the artist wants to denounce gender violence and race discrimination, through images of great precision but ambigu in their significance, leaving that to the spectator.
This presentation, which started around 20h30, counted with the intervention of Mrs. Mª Ángeles Filiu Cayuelas, specialist psychologist of a Refugee Centre of Victims of gender violence, apart from the presence of Mr. Rafael Carrasco, coordinator in Alicante of the "Dirección General de la Mujer" (General Board for Women) and other representants of groups, associations and organisms that are related to the subjects that are raised in this exhibition.
Donna Clovis participates in the series of exhibitions of Art Points with this show in Benijófar until the 21st of october, in a time frame from 17.00h to 21.00 h.
Clovis has achieved to cultivate a unique style in this art, through a wide professional trayectory as a photographic journalist in ABC Television, WNET and now as director of technology in the New York University.
