ARTPOINTS Artpoints is an initiative, aimed at promoting art. Supported by the association Ciudad del Hombre, founded in 1972 in Madrid, it consists basically in organizing the exhibition and promotion of the artworks of different international artists, through the exhibitions in diverse artpoints they maintain along what they have called "The Art Route on the Costa Blanca". They themselves define their ideas: "With a clear philosophy of opening towards the public and the free expression of the artists, we don't choose the artists for being "in the actual line"  (which mean in other words, adapted to the determing monopoly of the galleries and the art elite) nor for being commercially "saleable", rather the opposite, for being simply quality art or for showing a searching or restless soul. In this line, we exhibit these artworks in carefully selected public locations, with the aim to achieve a direct contact with the potentially art-loving public and thus again avoid the closed elitistic and exclusive  -for a big part of the public even cohibitive- circuit of the galleries. Our activity has not in the first place a commercial aim, but of promotion of the art and culture on a more generalized level, than it was until now".
