CULTURAL ACTIVITIES IN BENIJOFAR

The townhall of Benijófar has prepared for the coming weeks a programme that shows the vitality of this town for all kinds of public.

Already last march they have celebrated activities for the kids, as school theatre, to which assisted 260 children for the San jaime School of Benijofar, together with their teachers.

The culture department of the townhall has also organized from 21 febuary, the secont workshop of initiation in painting for children.

This workshop will last until 22 may and takes places every saturday, from 12.oo h to 13.30 h in the old library.

The activities of the april month started with a tango concert, the last 4th april, by the duoAmérica Norte y Sur, with the accordeonist Javier Lopez DJaso and David Johnstone, violonchellist.

But one of the central points of the activities in Benijófar, with regard to culture, will take place from the 2th to the 15 of this month, and that is the exhibition of Fons Heynsbroek.

Heynsbroek is a dutch abstract painter, residing in Amsterdam. He is an eternal searcher  of the essence of art and he is founder  of various artistic initiatives, as Art-Abstract.com i which he gathers a group of excellent abstract dutch painters, and which is represented in Artpoints by two of them, Ben Vollers and the same Fons Heynsbroek, and Dekunsten.net (the arts) website that he wants to be some kind of gathering place  for the art and the artists, a place for searching, philosophy and artistic thought.

Fons Heynsbroek is an unquiet artist. He defines this last initiative as " to be preocupied with the development of the arts, to see the art as related to hope and life strength.

To help potentiate the strength of the art as a possibility for the clear thought. Not cinical, not negative.

He has a more than complete curriculum with exhibitions in different European countries.

The artworks of Fons Heynsbroek, made with a technique of gouacheon paper, irradiate a very direct simplicity, a thought trasformed into intuition. In spite of, or thanks to, its limited charakter on a white and virgin surface, the artist creates a space, he creates imagesby way of colour and light, thus allowing the attentive spectator to live some kind of tridimensional experience.. These compositionsof form and colour  do not refer to any concrete objekt, rather to a slight nostalgy of the painter, a human space but further than the limits, searching for future unknown realities.

The abstract art for him is not only the painting, but most of all the wish  of something that is intuated and communicates through the paintings.
