Art Points.
The Art Points event evolved as a result of a long growth period, in response to the alarming situation in the international art world. It’s a fact, that at this moment the whole art world is completely influenced by what we could call “Rockefellerism”.
The great American museums and leading art lobbies are the visible tentacles of it and put their stamp directly and indirectly on everything that should (or wants to) have a name in the international art-world.
This has been going on for the last decennia but it reaches now an alarming global span.
 

Determining “elite”: ‘one blind man leads the other’ .
This lobby (which can be brought back to a very few people) has created over time a kind of “art criteria”, which is to be felt in the most remote corners, by way of an overpowering influence on the Art market.
This one-and-only determining and very strongly exclusive influence, achieves that only the art that adheres to these criteria (which clearly does not always have to do with art and quality), gets a chance: this is to say: an elitist minority that is then "approved".
This situation can perfectly be compared to the well known artwork of Breughel The Old: 'one blind man leads the other': they all handle these same criteria but none of them has their own capacity of judgement anymore.
Art is not viewed and appreciated for what it really is, but only for how far it responds to these criteria, and in the measure as it fits into their scheme.
All the rest stays out.
 

Unilateral criteria.
This way, these unilateral criteria determine the whole art happening. This thought becomes a power-thought, which spreads from one level to the next, in Museums, galleries, collectors and further to the widest corners of the art world. It’s a global and all dominating determination of the whole art, which –always following their imposed criteria –will say which artworks can be considered art and which not, and how the art has to be lived etc. etc. creating thus a completely unreal art-world with an own imposed art morality.
They have made of ART a commercial market and taken away its genuine value on a true artistic level. The expression of much too many artists, that can very possibly be a high art expression, never gets an opportunity.
Many people have tried to break through this barrier, but most of them never succeed.
Today one can’t bring in really new path-breaking things in the arts anymore, as one immediately meets with these imposed all around predjudices.
 

Breakthrough.
The aim of ART POINTS is, to break through this, as we consider this to be much too one-sided. We don’t want to judge whether it is right or wrong, but we certainly feel it is too narrow and closed.
The art has to be present in peoples lives. Art must be with people, in all its forms, ups and downs. It goes out from people and should stay with people, with a changing diversity that is inspiring and uplifting in their daily surroundings.
Thus the classical threshold fear many feel when entering a gallery, will not exist anymore. We look for the direct contact with the art.
That is the aim of the Art Points.
 

Growth-process.
When an artist participates with the ART POINTS event, their art starts a sort of growth-process.
The first priority of this event is promotion.
The artworks are exhibited during the whole period of participation at one point after the other, searching for the best possible combination. This way, the art as well as the artist become, with time, a familiar notion.
This happens as long as necessary until the right place, the right public and the right art find each other. Then we can start speaking of sales. Slowly but deeper going.
 

Artistic irradiation.
Thus, Art Points is a long term permanent event with a living, changing and very much varying artistic irradiation, of an ever growing group of international artists that get in contact with the art loving public.
Another aspect, which differentiates it still more clearly from the usual exhibitions organized by galleries or public sales, resides in two points:
1. With a clear philosophy of opening to the public and the free expression of the artist, here the art is not chosen for being in the ‘actual line’ (which means adapted to the well known and very determining monopoly of the museums, galleries and art-elite) , nor because, commercially seen, they would be interesting, but simply because of their artistic quality or because they express an interesting artistic searching spirit.
2. Our activity has no commercial aim, only of promotion of art and culture on a much broader level than it was until now. 
 

Cultural foundation.
The coordination and promotion of this Programme is done by the Spanish non-profit Foundation Ciudad del Hombre a.s.f.l., founded in 1979 in Madrid and based in Alicante-Murcia.
 

Public spaces.
For the moment the event only takes place on the Spanish Levante Coast, where a permanent as well as temporary international public is always present.
It actually consists of about 25 diverse Art-points exhibition places each with their own identity, situated on a route between La Manga del Mar Menor and Valencia, which we have called the “Art Route".
These points are not static. The continuity lies in variety and in the event itself, which takes place continuously.
The art-route is made of a series of public spaces and can be: gastronomic restaurants, hotels, design shops, stylists, cultural cafes, all chosen because of their high cultural level and because they receive a potentially art-loving public.
The result is a fine combination of art, culture and quality of life.
At this moment, the weekly growing route goes over Dehesa de Campoamor, Guardamar del Segura, Elche, Alicante, and Calpe up to Pedreguer and Denia.
The art-loving public will surely not want to miss this interesting trip along the coastal art-route. All the exhibitions are shown in this website, where you will also find the list of artists and artworks they present.
The exhibitions are changed every three months.
 

Events.
Apart from the continuous exhibitions, we will also organize creative festival-events, which will not necessarily be limited to the walls of the Art points. The whole area will be our artistic field of action, with its open and closed spaces, the strength of different expressions, a constant evolution of interactions of confrontation and communication, a festival of dynamic creativity which brings all the disciplines together, giving birth to many things with many forms and where quality and creativity stand above quantity, limited only by the physical spaces available.
We believe that the “Art-points” are an interesting event for all the many art-lovers from other parts of Europe that have fixed their residence on the Spanish Levante Coast and of course, also for the Spanish public and the many tourists that wish to combine their stay with the enjoyment of viewing the Art-exhibitions of our Art-route. We would like to draw everybody’s attention on our Programme, with the aim of giving notice about the Art-points and the Art-route in the international cultural Agendas, as being our contribution to the artistic cultural landscape, in which takes place a beautiful harmonization of the cultural, social and economic values.
