Curriculum Vitae RUBEN OCHOA



Born in Ciudad de México.
Winner of the first place in the Photography Contest "Nopal Urbano" organized by the Government of Ciudad de México, Impronta Editores and Torre Mayor. Honorary mention in the second National Contest "Tu Gente" organized by the Magazine Cuartoscuro. Honorary mention in the First National Contest of Sporting Photography, organized by CONADE and theMexican Olympic Committee and finalist of the International Contest "Una Mirada al Concreto", organized by CEMEX.
 

Has participated
Has participated in group exhibitions in the galery of El Café de Nadie, in the Museo Nacional de Antropología and in the Torre Mayor of Ciudad de México. He has also exhibited in the Galería Extracto, in the Club de Golf Los Encinos, in the Galería La Joya de la colonia Roma, in the Restaurant Galería Non Solo Pasta, and he was invited to participate in the exhibition "Vendimia 2004" in Ensenada, Baja California and in the exhibition "Colectiva de Arte Contemporáneo Mexicano" organized by Roche Bobois.
 


He has photographed the musicians César Olguín, Zbigniew Paleta, Jamie Hudson, Eugenia León and the Mexican Rock Band Santa Sabina. Also the fine artists Francisco Toledo, Leonora Carrington, Vicente Rojo, Manuel Felguerez and Gabriel Macotela among others.
 

He collaborated
He collaborated in the publication of the book "Nopal Urbano" by Impronta Editores, soon to appear. He also elaborated the design and the photographies of the covers of some records, as ReverbNation by Jamie Hudson, Tangueramente and Tango Secreto by César Olguín.
 



He published photographies in the Magazines Cuartoscuro, Quattro, Dónde Ir and Tiempolibre and in the newspapers Reforma, La Jornada and El Economista. Recently he exhibited his project 360º, sponsored by Sony México, in the Auditorio Nacional de la Ciudad de México, where more than 300.000 visitors could see his work. This project was also exhibited in the Ex-Convento del Desierto de los Leones and in the Centro Cultural San Angel.
 

The Government
The Government of Ciudad de México and Impronta Editores have invitead him to collaborate in the edition of the book "Campanas", sculptural exhibition that is today exhibited in the Paseo de la Reforma of Ciudad de México.
 


The organizers of the IV Foro Mundial del Agua have invited him to participate in the commemorative exhibition of the event, on the subject of water. For this, he developped the project THERMO, a photographic project of great format in which he used a thermal camera. THERMO is today exhibited in the Alameda Central of Ciudad de México
 


Rubén Ochoa lives actually in Ciudad de México.
